I had few credit card when i was 17 in 2001.I did not make any payment on it. Now the accounts are charge offs and dispute or something. Is there any way i can fix my credit because its holding my job. I really really need help????

they should be falling off really soon as long as you dont make any payments on it now it will hurt you again…7year fall off. the older those accts are the weaker they are in FICO calculations. dispute is option but then they will probably find you and try to collect… check dates of first defaulting or charge off and see when it can fall off.

I turned 18 in nov. and i have been trying to start building my credit. Well i checked my credit report online because i kept getting denied and it said that i was 17 and had my address wrong. how do i contact them to get my b-day right because i have to apply for school loans. asap

Whenever you have an incorrect item/ entry in your credit report and you want to correct it, in credit industry lingo it is called "disputing an item". Here is what you can do to correct inaccuracies. When you login to your credit report online there will be section called "Dispute an item" go there and select the item you want to dispute and the website will ask you to write why you want to dispute or, what is the inaccuracy. Be brief but to the point.

If the online access to your credit report is no longer available but you have a print-out of your report, look at the last few pages of your report. There will be a phone number to call. Call them and specifically say that you are calling to "dispute an inaccurate item on your report" If they need additional info they will ask for it, example they may ask you to mail a copy of your driver license to correct the date of birth, etc. Jus talk to the customer service.

If you did not make a print-out of report and no longer have access to it online, you will have to run the credit report again. Remember to run each report separately, that way you get contact info of each credit reporting agency.. Do not do the 3-in-1 report. Good luck.

I rented an apartment from 2000 to 2006. I gave a verbal 30 day notice when I moved out, and my roommate contintinued to live there after I left. The roommate left oweing some money, but there was never any kind of evictions , not even a 7 day notice to pay rent. Now 8 months later there is an eviction showing on my credit report, for a different apt # at that address and from year 04. I"m sure I can straighten it out with the apt. manager, it has to be her mistake…But how do I get it off my credit report so that I can rent a house?

Each of the three credit bureau reports come with dispute forms. You are entitled to each report (Transunion, Experian and Equifax) each year. You simply challenge the errors and if they cannot verify the information, the dings MUST be removed by law.

I recently applied for a home loan, but the broker told i need it a higher score for a better mortgage rate. The broker offer to fix my credit and get me the preaproval. I am still not convince that the broker can do this for me.

Under federal law, your credit score can only be changed to correct mistakes or if your credit has been used fraudulently (ie someone stole your identity).

If the mortgage broker is offering to bump your credit score up in order for you to get a better loan, that woud be wholly illegal. If they did it with your knowledge, that would make you culpable.

Sounds like you need a new mortgage broker. If your current broker is willing to cheat a bank in order to get a bigger loan, think about how willing they probably are to cheat you.

I am currently trying to fix a number of entries (incorrect default, linked addresses) on my credit report. I am doing this with Experian. I realise that in the UK we have three credit referencing agencies, if I fix my file with Experian, will I have to do the same with the others or are they all linked so I only need ot do it the once?

O2 mobile ‘linked’ me with an address that I’ve never had anything to do with. They refused to accept that they could possibly be wrong. Experian would not allow a correction without O2’s permission, only a note saying that the information was disputed. A very frustrating episode!

I am only 19 years old but whenever I try to take out a loan, get a student account or something like this I get declined! I have been living at a quite few addresses in the U.K but don’t know why I am having this problem. What can I do? How can I sort this problem out?

On My husbands credit report it has Verizon Wireless 18 times on there for the same bill, apparently it went to collections and then that collection agency sold it to another collection agency and so forth but now it is on his credit 18 diffrent times for the same amount. I am under the impression that if you have something in collections it can only be on your credit report once not 18 times for the same bill. If I am correct how do I get those other 17 off his credit score and make his credit score go way up. There is only one other thing on his credit score and they have rated it as a 473 because of all the Verizon Wireless bills on there. (By the way we have already paid the bill). you need to contact expirian or another credit reporting agency and make a dispute. I disputed a credit claim from a doctor who did not send off a bill for several months, and once he did, we had already moved. We assumed the bill was covered by insurance after paying our copay at the drs office, but there was a $90 bill for lab work that was not covered. My credit got screwed much in the same way that your husbunds did. I made a dispute and told them the whole story and about 2 months later they took the claims off my report and my credit went back to normal. I was at 600 or something and it went up to around 680 afterward. A good way to raise credit after you get it straightened out is to lease a BMW. BMW financial inflates your credit score quickly. 3 years later and I am now at 730.
