Does anyone know how to get a Government grant to help or assist paying your credit card debit?
I have read about this, but can’t find the website….
govt gramts are very hard to apply for and very hard to get even if the money is there.. go to a local jr college and ask the librarian if they have the CD rom to explain how to write a grant proposal and if there is anyone to assist you.

Why should the government bail anyone out for that? I really hope that you heard wrong, because if my tax money went to something like that I’d be FURIOUS. People who are irresponsible with credit cards need to dig their OWN way out.

The US Government does not give grants to pay off personal debt,,,
It is possible an individual could fraudulently obtain a grant and pay off personal debt,,, or go gambling in ‘Vegas ,,, I’m sure it’s happened,,

There are no such programs and the only service the government provides to assist in matters of huge and overwhelming debt is bankruptcy court….filing for Chapter 7.
Of course the crooked bankers got bailed out for all their reckless acts….but the little guys get nothing.
If your credit card debt is out of control, you may want to enter into a non profit debt management plan like Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS). They can negotiate reduced interest and payments (but not settlements) and put you on one single payment per month. You can get a referral at: http://www.nfcc.org
