If you were or are still a fan, this rendition will probably make you tear up.

    So much has drained …
So much has drained us all. My friend has lost 12 loved ones in the past 2 months, 7 for me in 3 years, another has been a trauma nurse for 35 years…but we realized tonight there are still 4 of us left. What a wonderful night we made of it ending with hugs and happy memories of those we have lost. Hopefully we’ll all meet in Heavens Music Pavillion one day. Thanks John.

Thank you John for this…One of my favorite songs…When I get too hard on myself,
I think I have messed up too bad….I listen to this. Makes me miss you more….But….I understand what I didn’t the first time I heard it. This song is a beautiful song and a wonderful poem for all of us to live by. God bless John Denver and his wonderful music….

    This is one of …
This is one of those songs you just need to close your eyes and listen to the words. So much to learn from this song and it gives you a new outlook on life and what’s truly important. We get caught up in the day to day struggles and stress, we need to sit back and be thankful for what we have and look forward to the blessings yet to come. This song is so amazing.

    sometimes in life …
sometimes in life we do not know what we have till they are gone. that is how I feel about John. I grew up with his music in the 70’s as a kid. now at 46, I know what he means by “there is still so much left to do”. living life with passion is what John was all about and it was his biggest lesson for each of us. I will never forgive myself for not seeing him in Corpus Christi right before he passed. Just took it all for granted then. I learned the lesson to never take anything for granted.

This is my all time favorite John Denver song. I love the line “how sweet it is to love someone, how right it is to care”. How true. I miss John, but his lovely songs will live on forever.

    “….and lie there …
“….and lie there by the fire and watch the evening tire…….” One of the best lyrics in all of popular music. So simple, yet so expressive of our shared memories.

When I get to where …
When I get to where all kindred spirits unite, I shall find John Denver. He will know me, because his words, his music, his love of nature, are all embedded in my own soul. Henry David Thoreau, Emerson, Aldo Leopold and John will all come running to embrace their little sister and we shall sing, “I have to say it now, its been agood life all in all”

    Sure wish I could …
Sure wish I could have met him. This song and “Come and let me look in your eyes” sure make you reflect on your life. One of the few singers who’s songs actually have true meaning.

    Brings tears to my …
Brings tears to my eyes. I’m 56 years old. I used to have an old John Denver 8 track that I played in my old 1965 Ford Falcon way back when I was dating. The song sort of sums up my life now. I was really sad when John Denver died. What a loss!

    The man and music: …
The man and music: a genius tragically lost to all of us far too soon. He will forever be in our memories and his music will continue to influence people for generations to come. Thank you for the post. RIP John.

A beautiful song…..a beautiful voice….a beautiful man! This song took on a whole new meaning for me after John’s death. A&E showed the Wildlife concert a few days later and I just sat and sobbed through this song.
