There are no "loopholes" or laws that credit repair companies can use to get correct information off your credit report.
No credit repair company can do anything you can’t do for yourself. It is impossible for a third party to make changes in your file if the facts have been correctly reported. There are individuals and companies that claim they can fix a bad credit file. This is not the case. If a file includes accurate, yet negative information about your credit history, this information cannot be changed. Information will only be changed when your file contains an inaccuracy.
The only way to rectify a poor credit rating is to adopt sound credit practices for a period of time.

Since per the government review of the situation, some 85% percent of everything listed on credit reports contained errors and since anything in error has to be removed or corrected.
I think this agency below can help you.
Yes, you could do it yourself but as with many things, advice from an expert is usually helpful.

Well, after working in the credit business for over 10 years, the answer is not so simple. It all really depends on what kind of "bad credit" you are trying to clean up. Bankruptcies are not going to be able to be taken off for 7 years. A Repossession, usually anywhere from 2-3 years. If anyone tells you otherwise, I would really question their methods. There are some shady businesses out there, that just want your money and will charge you a fee, and then tell you that they did what they could, which may not be much. Some other dings in your credit are more easily taken care of. Just remember that certain debts/histories cannot be simply erased. Technically, it is illegal for a company to show a credit reporting in any different way than it really is. If there are errors on the report, they can be fixed, but they cannot take your bad credit and make it squeaky clean. They may be able to modify, but in my professional opinion, it’s questionable how they do it. In my carreer, I have learned that back child support and student loans cannot be forgiven. Even through bankruptcy. Any creditor (mortgage companies included) like to see 2 years of good credit. They may ask for bank statements, etc. But if you are able to wait one year (rather than the 6 months you mentioned), it would look a lot better to anyone reveiwing your credit report. A year tends to show your spending habits, because it is a full cycle of seasons, which can :sometimes show seasonal financial needs/wants: traveling, holidays, taxes, etc. A little hint: If possible, fund your home through your local credit union. They have just as many services for you as a large bank, but a lot less in fees and restrictions. At least look into becoming a member and see what they have to offer. Smaller places can also assist you in "fixing" your credit by helping you gather letters from creditors that may reflect a concern on your credit, while a big place may just turn you away, with no pointers to help you. I hope this helps! Happy house hunting!
