Are there any credit repair companies that are legit?

I want to fix my credit fast, because my husband and I want to buy a new house in about 6 months. There a lost of credit repair companies out there. They say that they can remove bad hits on your credit report.

Has this worked for anyone? If so, which company? How much did you have to pay them? How much did your credit score increase? How long did it take?

    quick answer is no. they can tell you what you already know. the best way is to find out which credit reporting company that the bank will use to assess you, then moniter that credit reporting company. In Canada usually it is equifax. a bank will give you credit as long as your score is above 700. Generally if you dont do anything bad your score will go up about 12 points a month so if you have 6 months to wait you can get about 72 points. Don’t open bank accounts, Don’t close bank accounts, dont cancel credit cards dont start credit cards, dont do anything. EVEN GOOD THINGS CAN TEMPORARILY NEGATIVELY AFFECT IT.

    the best thing to do is just pay your bills on time and reduce your credit card debt. They look at how close your credit card balance is to your limit, so pay them down, and try to get your limit increased.
    You can contest items on your credit report and they have a certain amount of time to prove it valid. Usually they don’t bother, and just take the item off. just do 1 item at a time. Don’t open any more credit cards. this seems obvious, but they are always trying to get you to open a store credit card etc and offer a discount if you apply etc.
